SSM 6000 for flue and process gases
IR multi-channel device for measuring flue and process gases
The SSM 6000 series is intended for measuring flue and process gases. It is designed to meet requirements for regular process monitoring directly at the facility. This device features selected and proven sensor technology for the relevant gas components: carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen monoxide, sulphur dioxide and oxygen for flue gases; methane, carbon monoxide, oxygen, hydrogen and carbon dioxide for process gases. Additional features enhance the quality of the measurement results and enable the device to be customized to your requirements. The analysis is carried out continuously. The SSM 6000 is easy to operate, with a clear display and history function (e.g. memory for all measured values with time stamps).
Advantages
Various types of facilities present a multitude of difficult challenges for gas analysis instruments – with strict requirements for reliability and stability during continuous usage. Functional technology has been built into the SSM series to meet these requirements.
The following features are available for customizing the device to your application requirements:
– Multi-level preparation of measurement gas with filters and gas cooling (dehumidification). The dehumidification prevents sensor outages caused by condensation. It also reduces the risk of corrosion for components exposed to the gas being measured.
– Humidity and flow alarms,
– Elimination of pressure and temperature influences on the measured values,
– Detonation safety barrier (EN 12874) and housing ventilation to ensure safe handling of process gases.
The SSM series has additional special features:
– Extremely high long-term stability for the IR channels made possible by Pronova's ProCAL technology,
– Automatic single-point calibration for the other gas types,
– Large display showing all detected gases.
Measurement methods
Methane (CH4), carbon dioxide (CO2) and carbon monoxide (CO) are measured with excellent accuracy and selectivity using the dual-beam infra-red method. The influences of pressure and temperature on the measured results are effectively eliminated using this method. By supplementing the infra-red method with Pronova's ProCAL functionality, the device calibration has exceptional long-term stability.
Infra-red sensors are also used to measure carbon monoxide (CO) and sulphur dioxide (SO2) in the ppm range.
Nitrogen monoxide (NO) and oxygen (O2) are detected by electro-chemical sensors. Paramagnetic measuring cells can also be used for applications with special oxygen requirements. Thermal conductivity sensors can be used for detecting percentages of hydrogen concentrations.
Our range of available sensors can be customized to fit the measuring range and cross-sensitivity found in your requirements.
