iRAS® – Water analysis technology

The Ag/AgCl - reference electrode is an electrode with a defined and stable potential. It consists of a silver wire coated with silver chloride immersed in a 3 M KCl-filling solution (single bridge). The electrode is surrounded of a second electrolytic solution (double bridge) to avoid interfer-ence of the measuring solution by escaping silver and chloride ions of the filling solution.

Following filling solutions are suitable for the double bridge:
1 M KNO_3^- – solution for the measurement of Ag⁺, Cl^-, Br^-, I^-, CN^-
1 M Na₂SO₄ – solution for the measurement of NO₃^-

Applications:
Reference electrode for all ion-selective electrodes
